Privacy policy
This policy explains how Phil's Fencing Supplies Pty Ltd (ABN 58 628 426 899), which runs our Craigieburn warehouse, and ACOM Hoppers Crossing Pty Ltd (ABN 18 682 381 139), which runs our Hoppers Crossing warehouse, both trading as ACOMFENCE ("we", "us"), handle your personal information when you use this website, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Your information is handled by the business that runs the warehouse you order from. What we collect and why, who we disclose it to, how long we keep it, and how to ask for access or correction or to complain are set out further down this page.
1. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you fill in the checkout, sign in, or contact us. Your company name is optional. If you sign in with your mobile number, we use that number to find your customer record at this warehouse. Our website keeps a cart cookie so your cart is still there when you come back; it lasts 7 days. We keep a record of technical events, such as errors, to keep the website working and secure. If you do not give us your name, email and mobile number we cannot process an online order, but you can phone or visit the warehouse instead.
2. Overseas storage
Some of our service providers, such as our accounting and email providers, store information outside Australia, including in the United States.
3. How we protect it
We keep your information in systems that need a sign-in, limit access to staff who need it, and use encrypted connections. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
4. Complaints
We will respond to a request or complaint within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days, and we may need to confirm who you are first. If you are not satisfied with our response to a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
5. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page.
What we keep, and for how long
Order details are kept indefinitely, alongside the accounting record they belong to.
What we collect, and why
We collect your name, contact details, delivery or pickup address and order details in order to process your order, arrange delivery or pickup, and meet our accounting and tax obligations.
Who we disclose it to

- The provider of our office mailbox, which receives a copy of each invoice and quote we send.
